Neochera inops is a Moth in the family Erebidae.

Neochera inops is a Moth in the family Erebidae.

"Neochera inops is a moth in the family *Noctuidae (see my comment below). It is found from the north-eastern Himalaya to Sundaland and Palawan, including Bangladesh (Silhet), China (Hainan, Shaanxi, Yunnan), India (Assam, Darjeeling, Tamil Nadu), Indonesia (Borneo), Laos, Malaysia (Labuan, Perak), Myanmar, the Philippines (Balabac, Palawan, Mindoro), Sikkim, Thailand and northern Vietnam.

The wingspan is about 50 mm." - Wikipedia

*I had originally thought this moth to be in the family of Noctuidae but my dear friend, +B. Hinderks, explained: "The genus Neochera belongs to the subfamily Aganainae, a small group of moths, that belongs to the Erebidae family. Some sites still use the old classification, though recent (phylogenetic) studies have proven that these moths are not Noctuidae."
